Experiences

2 years (2014 – 2016) as a helper in the Philippines

Jomelyn worked in a landed property with 3-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room, garden and kitchen for a family of 3 with a 2- and 7-year-old, and she looked after their welfare. Daily, she cleans and tidy the house, do marketing, prepare and cook the family meals, wash and clean up the kitchen and utensils after use, do laundry, ironing and folding, wash and clean the family car, tend to garden and plant watering.

2 years (2016 – 2018) as a helper in the Philippines

Jomelyn worked in a landed property with 4-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room, garden, garage and kitchen for a family of 4 with a 75-year-old female, a wheelchair-bound patient, and she looked after her welfare, together with a co-helper and a driver. Daily, she does general house cleaning chores, do laundry, ironing and folding, tend to garden and plant watering.

(2019) Stayed home and applied to work in Singapore.

1 year 10 months (Mar 2019 – Jan 2021) as a helper in Singapore

Jomelyn worked in a HDB flat with 3-bedrooms, 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a family of 3 with a 2-year-old, and she looked after her welfare. Daily, she cleans and tidy the house, assist employer in marketing, prepare and cook simple family dishes, wash and clean up the kitchen and utensils after use, do laundry, ironing and folding, wash and clean the family car. She didn't continue working because the employer no longer needed a helper.

(Feb 2021 – Dec 2021)

Returned home, took rest and applied to work in Singapore.

1 year 10 months (Jan 2022 – Nov 2023) as a helper in Singapore

Jomelyn worked in a condo with 4-bedrooms, 3-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a Chinese family of 5 with a 9-, 11- and 16-year-old, and she looked after their welfare. Daily, she cleans and tidy the house, do marketing, prepare and cook the family meals (lunch & dinner), wash and clean up the kitchen and utensils after use, do laundry, ironing and folding. In all these, she managed the work well. For her future employment, she hopes to widen her experience to be a better helper.

(Dec 2023 – present)

Returns home, take rest and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes. In Singapore, she prepared and cooked basic Chinese dishes, such as steamed fish, stir fried vegetables, chicken curry etc.


Childcare

She is keen to look after children.

Elderly Care

She is keen to look after the elderly.



Pet Care

She is keen to look after pets. In Singapore, she groomed and fed a German Shepherd, walk the dog and kept clean the pet areas.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour.



2 years contract

She is aware of the 2-year contract.
